Ola Co-founder "Bhavish Aggrrawal" among TIME'S 100 most influential people



Bhavish Aggarwal, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Microsoft's Indian-born CEO Satya Nadella have been named in TIME magazine's 100 most influential people in the world this year, an annual list of honorees that includes US President Donald Trump.


Bhavish Aggarwal belongs to the young breed of ‘startuppers’ who form the face of Indian entrepreneurship ecosystem currently. Having graduated from IIT Bombay in 2008, Bhavish worked for Microsoft for a couple of years before calling it quits and starting up Ola Cabs- a cab rental service.

But quiting a job and move toward your passion and dream is big task and this task is faced by every successful "startuppers", and he did. 

 In his initial days his parents were thinking that he is going some kind of travel agent stuff, but after started funding, scenario were changing and his confidence was going on his peak level. 


  He said_"A startup life has no work-life balance. “Work is life,” believes Bhavish. His day starts at 7 am in the morning and finishes somewhere a 1 in the night. One often starts wondering if a startup guy can be a morning or a night person? “He has to be both,” confirms Bhavish with a hearty laugh."

Writing a profile for Mr Aggarwal for the magazine, Executive chairman of Indian e-commerce company Flipkart Sachin Bansal underlined Aggarwal's "vision, passion and determination" to stand against all odds. 

Mr Bansal said that Bhavish Aggarwal co-founded Ola, one of the world's largest ride-sharing companies and has "scaled it to more than 100 Indian cities, empowered millions of driver-partners and commuters, and is a flag bearer for India's consumer-tech ecosystem all by the age of 32." 

Mr Bansal said that in counting his laurels, it's easy to forget the struggles Bhavish Aggarwal faced while building one of India's most storied startups.
